In their words
Jack on the BCA.
- How many years have you played the Amateur?
- 11.
- Best finish?
- 2 time runner-up — Championship Flight.
- How do you prepare?
- To prepare for the Amateur I am trying to play County as much as possible and trying to get into as many different situations on the course.
- Favorite hole?
- I am going to say 3 holes: 11, 12 and 13. In order to be in contention at the Amateur you have to play these holes well. You have to hit multiple different shots and the holes have blow up opportunities on them.
- Most challenging hole?
- 9 — you try to favor the right side off the tee because left of the fairway is a pinch out or even a drop. Then I go for the green knowing the miss is short left with the angulation of the green. If you make a par you pick up some ground on the field.
- What would winning mean to you?
- It would mean a lot. I grew up at this tournament as this will be my 22nd Amateur I am a part of. It's a fun weekend that requires your best for 3 days.
- Favorite Amateur memory?
- Caddying for my dad growing up. This got me into competitive golf and the fun that can be had with the game. I learned how good players prepared for a 3-day tournament and how they never really got too high or too low during the round.
