How many years have you played the Amateur?

On and off for the past 25 years.

Best finish?

3× champion.

How do you prepare?

Really prepping for long patio sessions where I get over-served and under-appreciated. I'll start in early July and have several Busch Lattes daily to make sure I can be at peak performance for the Am.

Favorite hole?

Hole 6. My wife will caddy for me on occasion. Back when there were shrubs that helped line the left side of the fairway, I pulled and popped up a drive that landed directly into one of those shrubs. The next day my wife advised me to not 'hit it into the bush'! Great swing thoughts every time I step onto that tee box!

Most challenging hole?

For me, it's hole 13. Usually hit a 5-hybrid right down the middle…maybe a slight pull into the left rough. Then I chunk my 2nd shot into the first pond. Sometimes I get lucky and clear the first pond and shank it into the 2nd pond! The nice thing is that the drop is a lot nicer from the left edge of pond 2.

What would winning mean to you?

As long as I have one more trophy than Scott Perry, my life is complete.

Favorite Amateur memory?

Post round on the patio…looking at the scores as they get updated and then listening to the play by play of their double digit scores they carded…
