Andy Harbath — Returning Player

Returning Player

Andy Harbath

2nd Amateur · dad on the bag

Brown County, WI Returning Player

Second Amateur for Andy — and his dad's back on the bag. Working on the mental game, putting, and finding fairways off the tee.

In their words

Andy on the BCA.

How many years have you played the Amateur?
1 — this will be my 2nd.
Best finish?
13.
How do you prepare?
Working on the mental game, putting, and getting off the tee.
Favorite hole?
Hole 13 — if you hit the green right, it's fun to watch the ball roll towards the pin.
Most challenging hole?
Hole 4 — narrow and long enough that I need to play an iron to keep it safe and hope I have a good putt for par.
What would winning mean to you?
It would mean seeing all the work I've put into my game come together — but honestly, the biggest part would be having my dad there as my caddie. Winning with him by my side would be a memory we'd both carry forever.
Favorite Amateur memory?
On hole 3 I hit my tee shot next to a tree. My caddie (my dad) and I were going back and forth on whether to drop. I said, “stop, I'm hitting this with my putter backwards.” As a lefty I hit that ball with my putter right-handed and put it within 6 feet of the pin. I looked at my dad and said, “how 'bout that.” We got a good laugh — but don't ask how the putt went.
